North Carolina Coastal Kayak (Fishing) Trip and Island Picnic
Back to ItemsJoin staff from Kittelson's Wilmington Office in a daylong kayak outing through the coastal marshes. We will meet you and one friend/partner at a local boat launch and take you to explore the intercoastal waterway and marshes of the NC coast. Choose between kayaks, canoe, or stand-up paddle board, which will all be provided for you. After we explore the marshes, and spend the morning looking for birds and dolphins, we'll stop for a picnic lunch on Masonboro Island - a 5-mile long uninhabited barrier island to hunt for shells, take a solitary beach walk, or just enjoy the day. We'll coordinate the exact date (spring or fall are recommended) with you, as well as the timing (sunrise or sunset paddles are definitely an option). We're also happy to "upgrade" your experience free of extra charge to include some kayak fishing (bait and rods provided, but you'll have to purchase a fishing license for the day).
This experience requires participants to be generally comfortable getting in and out of a kayak by themselves and being able to spend much of the day being active. The outing requires the weather to cooperate and will need to be rescheduled with heavy winds or thunderstorms.
Thank you Kittelson Wilmington office for this donation!
